The band were formed in the North-West of England, around 1999, by a collective of Blues music enthusiasts ready to rock 'n roll their British and Texan bluesationed classic rock manifesto onto the fellowship of gig goers in the United Kingdom. Now, in the present dimension, they travel forever onwards in their conquest of the concert venues. This is the story of how Doug, Lee, and Pete came to be the:
AFTER HOURS BLUES BAND
Once upon a blues band, there lived, in deepest Lancashire, a gaggle of brave blues enthusiasts. That fearless threesome constructed a group to project their wares upon a blues loving populous. Soon, they were ready to strike a few chords on the road. As for the name, our bandoliers at the time - Ed, Lee, and Pete - resisted the name ELP in favour of the more dynamic title of the After Hours Blues Band. and then, accompanied by their alter egos: Hurricane, Baby, and Teabag, they travelled onwards to ply performances to a host of British counties, playing live and loud renditions of the beautiful blues music made famous by their heroes. Their world had to stop when, in late 2006, Hurricane decided to join a bizarre religious cult in Tibet, and was never seen again. Luckily, at the same time, a bassist refering to himself 'Hippy' stepped in and saved the day, casting away his robes and beads for the more comfortable blues rocking attire. This hero revealed himself to be the great debonair dexterous Doug, who slipped into the bass playing role with ease. The band were once again ready to take on the world. |
